Periarticular cysts of the cervical spine

Periarticular cysts of the facet joints are relatively rare and occur predominantly (95%) in lumbar spine, effectiveness their surgical treatment requires further study. Objective: to give a detailed description case series patients with periarticular cervical spine. Material methods . During 10 years (from 2012 2022) 8 spine were treated neurosurgical department Clinic Nervous System Diseases Sechenov University. All underwent decompressive surgery. The severity pain syndrome was assessed by visual analogue scale (VAS) pain, degree disability – index (DI) due neck pain. Results. After treatment, decreased from 7.25±1.28 2.13±1.12 points according VAS (p<0.01), DI 51.5±8.08 21.25± 4.5 all achieved significant (50% or more) reduction None had complications during treatment. Conclusion. Microsurgical removal at level can significantly reduce disability.
